Louisiana: The Official Stance for Construction
Construction Status: Essential
Brought to effect on March 23, a statewide stay at home order has been issued until April 30, 2020. Under this, people who are working for essential services are permitted to leave their home for employment. However, construction activity related to health, safety, housing, COVID-19 relief are exempt.
As per the most recent updates on executive orders released by Governor Edwards, it has been made a mandate to wear masks with continuous spread of COVID-19 in the state on July 11, 2020.
October 2020 Update: The already pandemic affected state has been stuck even harder with the coming of hurricane delta. Since construction is deemed as an essential, the state will be looking forward to rebuild the infrastructure and open public projects. However, for both public and private projects, it is essential to stick with safety guidelines at site to avoid any spread of COVID-19.
