Brought to effect on March 23, a statewide stay at home order has been issued until April 30, 2020. Under this, people who are working for essential services are permitted to leave their home for employment. However, construction activity related to health, safety, housing, COVID-19 relief are exempt.​

As per the most recent updates on executive orders released by Governor Edwards, it has been made a mandate to wear masks with continuous spread of COVID-19 in the state on July 11, 2020.
