Brought to effect on March 23, a statewide stay at home order has been issued until April 30, 2020. Under this, people who are working for essential services are permitted to leave their home for employment. However, construction activity related to health, safety, housing, COVID-19 relief are exempt.​

As per the most recent updates on executive orders released by Governor Edwards, it has been made a mandate to wear masks with continuous spread of COVID-19 in the state on July 11, 2020.

Citing the CISA guidelines, the orders of the governor has listed essential infrastructure to be exempt.To know more, read the list of activities that fall under the essentials called by the authorities.
Hardware stores are considered to be an essential business. The critical workforce which has been cited on the guidelines of CISA includes, “workers who support the manufacture and distribution of forest products, including, but not limited to timber, paper, and other wood products.”
The contractors need to follow the COVID-19 Prevention, Preparedness, and Response plan to keep the workers healthy at the site. Apart from this, the OSHA guidelines for preparing worksite could be followed at the site to mitigate the chance of illness.
No updates have been released about any specific Jobsite protocols. However, construction firms depending on the size of the unit, are still advised to opt for safety measures and precautions such as screening workers, sanitizing sites, 6-foot rule, etc.
