Question 1: How do you see the construction industry in the year 2023? Do you think this year will be a "digital year" for construction professionals?

The construction industry is definitely one of the most backward in terms of technology and productivity. This is partly because it is not an industrial production, but the technology's adoption has not been done on time.

Although, in recent years, the industry has learned that technology is essential for proper collaboration between professionals to increase efficiency and thus be able to be competitive in an increasingly complex scenario.

2023 is definitely a digital year for construction. Adopting schematics and 5D BIM models is becoming more popular and, in some places, required by governments for public procurement.

In the same way, all the support that the ERPs and the work programming and control platforms provide are basic elements to be able to manage the projects adequately.

Question 2: The construction industry has undergone dynamic changes over the years. What do you consider as the biggest challenge for this industry now?

The biggest challenge facing the construction industry now is to be more efficient in generating greater value for all stakeholders while always maintaining top quality.

For this, a trending topic is the implementation of collaborative schemes and agile frameworks. This is always seeking to optimize flows, reduce waste and increase the participation of the end customer in all stages of the projects.

Question 3: What potential do you see in the latest construction technology trends? Are they capable of boosting the productivity of construction professionals?

Of course, now productivity is dependent on technology. Project construction depends 100% on continuous communication and collaboration between all the participants.

Only with state-of-the-art technology multiple operational and administrative professionals can work while being in different places together in real time.

The potential that I see for the technology is that it is really allowing us to make fewer mistakes and therefore avoid delays and cost overruns. This automatically translates into a more significant generation of value and an increase in the quality of our projects.

Question 4: Where do you see the construction industry in the next five years? Please share your valuable insights with our readers.

Based on my previous answers, in the next 5 years, I would think that remote and multicultural participation will be much more natural for developing international projects.

Technology removes all distance and communication barriers. It will not be strange to have teams from all continents working together. In the same way, for this, better standards and greater compatibility between formats will be generated.
