Let’s quickly get to our expert’s point of view

Question:1 What projects/initiatives are you working on at the moment?

We are an AEC innovation and communication consultancy. Currently, we’re helping construction technology startups and SMEs build their international brands and established construction companies communicate.

Question 2: How do you look at the construction industry in 2021?

The pandemic is still a major issue in construction this year. It has forced construction companies to work remotely whenever possible and digitalize workflows on construction sites. Remote communication has opened new opportunities for startups and other tech firms to expand their reach globally, find new customers, and make new sales. Artificial intelligence and machine learning apps specifically are coming to construction sites, helping in COVID-19 tracking and automation of information collection and management processes.

Question 3: What potential does see in construction management technology for a successful construction business, especially when we talk about recovery and growth after the pandemic?

The value-adding time in construction work varies between 30 and 60 percent. One of the root causes for the poor productivity is in management that’s based on outdated or insufficient information and poor communication between project participants. Digital construction process management and automation have a huge potential in that respect. The pandemic has shown how important digital situational awareness is.

Question 4: Few tips would you like to share with other construction firms, contractors, and subcontractors? Anything which according to you can help add value to the business?

It is necessary to start digital communication, planning, and shared information management at the very beginning of a project and get all the trades onboard from the get-go. Transparency of information builds trust, reduces rework, and helps everyone to be more productive in their tasks.
